In 2012, The School of Theater launched the Professional Artist Residency in Theater (PART) Program, bringing professional artists of all theatrical disciplines to Theater at Mason to teach, mentor, and work with our students. Here are just a few recent examples:
Stacy Keach, Heritage Professor of Theater, currently teaching perspectives on Performance for Stage and Screen, and serving as spokesperson for our new STEAM Education Initiatives.
Stevie Zimmerman, guest director of Passaggio, a world premiere student-written production opening March 2013, also teaches Text in Production.
Matthew Vaky, a professional Equity actor, performed the title role in our 2012 production of Brecht’s The Life of Galileo while teaching Acting 1.
Jenelle Lynn Randall, an alumna of our program (class of ’94) offers a seminar and workshop on the profession of the performing artist while appearing in You’re Gonna Hear From Me, a Tribute to jazz legend Nancy Wilson in February 2013.
