Design and Technical Theater Concentration

The Design and Technical Theater concentration provides a foundation of knowledge, technique, and experience in one or more areas of theater design and technology in preparation for advanced study and professional work in the field.

Admission Requirements:

  • Portfolio including resume, transcript, examples of creative and/or technical work.
  • Essay reflecting goals and motivation for the concentration. 
  • Prerequisites: THR 198,199,230 and 9 additional THR credits.

THR 314 Lighting Stage Craft
THR 331 Drafting and Model making
THR 332 Seminar in Costume History
THR 339 Design Concepts
THR 495 Senior Capstone Project
THR 440 or 496(fulfills Synthesis requirement)
Two design courses (THR 333,334,335or337)
Four courses from THR 315, 330 (6 credits max), 343,336,342, 345,434, or 494 (3 credits max)
