Make the world your stage by studying abroad for two weeks in London!
Freshmen are encouraged to audition for our Mason Players' productions and many of them are cast in significant roles in their first semester.
Each season consists of 6 productions: 2 Mainstage plays, 3 Studio Series plays, and our annual Mason Players Originals celebration of new work, written and directed by students. There are often additional presentations, including cabarets, capstone projects, special events, master classes and workshops. A Mainstage Musical is scheduled in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall every fall.
Show auditions are open to all full-time degree-seeking Mason students, including freshmen, all of whom are given equal consideration during the casting process. Mainstage shows are directed by faculty or professional guest artists, and use design teams of both students and professionals working together. Studio Series shows are student-directed.
The professors are very personable and passionate about their field, and I love how well-rounded the School of Theater is. Mason gives students the opportunity to study every aspect of theater no matter your concentration, and is a collaborative environment that provides endless opportunities for students.
